Following the great success of the Great Exhibition in 1851, Prince Albert had ambitions to create one of the most successful cultural quarters in the world, where visitors could access education in history, culture, art, music and science in free museums and institutions.
As the visionary of these buildings, Prince Albert’s name was memorialised not only at the Royal Albert Hall, but to describe the cultural area of museums and educational institutions in South Kensington. The name Albertopolis was born.
