Taking place 20 May 2016, 39 years after the legendary punk pioneers The Damned were denied a chance to perform at the Royal Albert Hall, the band finally had their day on our stage. In 1977 they were deemed ‘not suitable group for an appearance here’ by the Hall’s management. The ban was lifted for a special performance marking the band’s 40th anniversary. The band’s excitement at making their long-awaited debut, and the audience’s elation, made for an electric three-hour show.
